Ms. Fincham currently serves as Head of Intellectual Property (external) for ApiJect Systems, Corp, a medical device technology company.  Prior to forming RowanTree Law Group, Ms. Fincham was a Partner at Fincham Downs, LLC, a boutique intellectual property law firm.  Prior to her work with Fincham Downs, she served in various roles at Walker Digital, an innovation laboratory whose business was to develop, protect, and commercialize its Intellectual Property assets through a variety of commercialization models ranging from spinning off business based on those assets (the most well-known commercialized business of which is priceline.com) to partnering with key industry stakeholders and Licensing.

While at Walker Digital, Ms. Fincham first served in a business capacity as Director of Intellectual Property Commercialization and then  in a legal capacity as Vice President, Intellectual Property.  In these roles she co-managed a large in-house IP business and legal departments, overseeing the intellectual property strategy for several spin-off businesses in a variety of industries as well as a Patent Licensing and Sale initiative directed towards monetizing segments of the company's significant patent portfolio, which involved structuring complex asset sales and licensing agreements.  In addition to her significant patent procurement & prosecution and licensing & transactional work, Ms. Fincham's expertise includes conducting freedom-to-operate and validity opinions and supporting due diligence reviews for M&A transactions.  Selected by MIT as a member of the TR100 for the year 1999, a list of the country’s top 100 contributors to the New Economy, Ms. Fincham is a named inventor in more than 200 issued and pending patents.

Having tremendously enjoyed her work with start-up businesses over the years, both in a business role and legal capacity, Ms. Fincham recognizes the importance of promoting entrepreneurship and innovation. To that end, Ms. Fincham has served as co-chair of the Economic Development Commission (helping to architect its Business Incubator initiative) and Head of the Green Business Task Force in the Town of Ridgefield, CT, as a judge for the Intellectual Property Magazine Awards and brought the CT Invention Convention to Ridgefield, CT Schools.  She is the incredibly proud mom of 3 children and an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 19, Ridgefield's first all-girl Scouts BSA™ Troop in Ridgefield, CT.
